MIL Eliminator

I am preparing to do the exhaust. I am going with a non-catted up pipe, catted B&B down pipe and 06 STI cat back. With the deletion of two cats will the MIL eliminator be necessary? I have read at a couple of different posts that over time the ECU will recognize the deletion of the cats.

Anyone know a good source for gaskets?

    Thanks

You should get some tuning (Accessport or protune) with those mods. All of those defeat the codes that will be triggered. Without tuning, you can do the resistor fix. Search here or Nasioc and you will find the info you need.

i'm not sure the ECU will be "ok" with the deletion of cats... regardless, i would not run a TBE modified wrx or sti without proper engine management. you're just asking for trouble down the road.

I think you're right Monk. The more research I do the more I lean towards engine management. Engine management does not seem very reliable either. I see allot of posts where over time even basic ecu flashes tend to slowly lead to other tuning issues(codes) requiring further tuning even without additional mods. Maybe I'll wait to move forwards until I can get my hands on an access port.

^ sounds good. get an AP, and a ProTune... which is definitely reliable. talk to Scott Siegel at TopSpeed
