Just Wondering Which Coilover Would Be Most Popular For Wrx? -tein -tanabe -jic Magic Or Anyother Brand Recommand?
Can't help you but I would also like to ask a question about coilovers. I am about ready to start looking around and don't know much about them. I want to pursue track events (Road Atlanta / little tally) but this car is also my daily driver, so I'd figure I want something adjustable. I also plan on rallyx-ing sometime so what are some good ajustable coilovers? for rally would I need to losen it up if it's a rough ride? sorry for not answer your question and asking my own, i didn't want to start another thread on coilovers
Everybody and their mom runs Tein's(good stuff), and I would list K-sport, meagan, cusco, KW! I run the JIC FLA-2 on my daily driven wagon!
I like the JICs personally (for track use), but the Teins have faster valving. I really have yet to meet someone that is running the Tanabes. Meagans are cheap and very nice, there is no one that complains about the KW3s either. However, with that said, the msot important question is how much are oyu willing ot spend?
i have had teins on both subarus that i have owned... i have never had reason to switch to something else
Tein is probably most commonly used. The Meghan Racing I've heard is better than the JIC's if you are thinking about track. The Helix's are the good, but inexpensive coilovers. Make sure you ride in someones car with the coilovers you want, or someone that has similar spring rates. You may not like the school bus effect.
^^ And don't let anyone tell you what is and isn't hard or soft, (in terms of ride quality). That's something you have to find out for yourself. I really like my Tein SuperStreet Dampers except that in my mind they could be a little softer so the car doesn't get beat up so much. The funny thing is that SSD's are considered some of the more comfortable coilovers out there unless I'm just completely off.
i agree... coilovers are not for everyone... heck, some people even think that the stock sti rides too harsh
