Hey - Been awhile since I've posted cause I'm broke as hell but I'm graduating from GT in May so hopefully some cash inc. Hope everyone is doing well. Anyways, the carbon kevlar full-face clutch and 13 lb flywheel I'm running now are a little too grippy and forceful for my stock mounts; I can feel the motor flopping everytime I engage from a stop and occasionally it will move so much that it makes a loud banging sound from the front-driver side. Pretty sure the bang is just the metal-on-metal collision from the motor mount popping up and down, hope so at least. (Possibly the front left axle) Of course part of it is just clutch chatter and me being anal about it but it's definitely shaking around more than it should be. So to keep me from going insane sitting in Atlanta traffic I want that mofo held down. Trying to decide between Group N (soft), Avid Racing (street medium), and Cusco (solid) Motor/Engine mounts. I don't want the whole car to rattle to pieces at idle like I've felt plenty of solid-mounted cars do...but I want a clear improvement over stock. I was hoping I could get some feedback from you all and possibly snag a ride with a couple of you to see what yours feel like. Willing to buy beer&dinner :wiggle: I'm running Stage 2 TBE & Tune, gutted uppipe, all stock motor&tranny mounts.
Beatrush makes a set as well. I'd go cusco just because I found a set for $200 and it was the cheapest of all the options and stiffest as well.
Or you can buy them used. I'm pretty sure the mounts don't go bad, and they'll just come already broken in.
