Sooo fucking awesome. Thank Jeebus, an actual rated R horror, a remake to boot, that is actually great. Lots of nods to the original with the same basic premise, but enough different to make it its own. Lots of gore, but not torture porny. Scary, without relying on jump scares (ok, there are a few). There is a scene I actually had to turn my head from... which I don't think I've done ever as a horror buff. Its a must see at the theater too, don't wait for the Bluray. It's supposedly leading to an Army of Darkness remake... and judging by this, will be great as well.

Yes, that is my concern as well... But Ash is heavily involved, and Evil Dead was good. So, I'm optimistic.
I'm in complete agreement. I was blown out of the water (is that the scene?) by this. Wanted to go back and watch again the next day.

The introduction of the flooded basement bit creeped me out the most, but if we're talking cringe-worthy looking away, forked tongue. Definitely forked tongue.
That scene's in one of the trailers, so you can watch it over and over and over and over and over again if you want.
LOL... I'm gonna pass on that one. I'll put the scene where chick shoots herself in the face with a nailgun repeatedly and then asks why her face hurt.. that was good times
