1. Where do you live? Nevada, in the future somewhere by GA Tech. Anyone have location suggestions? 2. What do you preferred to be called (not your username)? JC 3. What do you drive? 2.5RS 4. How modded is your ride? It's got mods. 5. Where do you usually by parts? Subaru Specialists or subaruwrxparts.com 6. Do you visit any other local boards? nope 7. Show, Go, or Stock and staying that way? Whatever strikes my fancy. 8. Do you wave to other wrx's when you see then coming towards you? Only if its modded, I wave at all RS' though 9. Where did you find out about WRXatlanta? GTScoob on NASIOC Since I'm here, I'm trying to decide if I should bring my RS with me to ATL or not. If I don't I'd bring a 96-99 Outback or Legacy GT, which would cost about the same as repairs my RS needs. Here's some pics of my bucket....
bring the RS... :bigthumb: considering suggestions for places around tech... do u have any idea how much u wanna spend and what ur looking for? welcome to WRXatlanta
Less than 100k most likely, preferably around 75k. A condo probably, but I'd pick up a house if the price was right. Mostly just looking to find good areas right now. Thanks guys, JC
I'm looking for a roommate if you want to rent, post apartment. Email me if your interested socrates4242 at gmail.com
Let me know when you get here, we'll get some lunch or such. Maybe even introduce you to some of the regulars.
pretty in white oooweeeee! thats a perdy 2.5 we are light on white cars anyway. Gtscoob needs friends.
Re: pretty in white haha, yep! Its nice you made it on over here JC, welcome aboard. Pretty soon my friend Mike is getting a white 2.5RS coupe and he'll be on here too.
i say move out here and rent a few months till you find your area. I just moved out here about 10 months ago and was greatful I did the renting thing for a bit. We ended up finding out the original area we were looking in wasnt for us. Good Luck. Call a few real estate agents to, they are a wealth of information.
Nope but I took a look at it. Looks nice for finding stuff, but more expensive than some other sites. The thing is I'm just there for grad school. So its ~2.5 years and I'm out. Waiting 10 months won't make much sense. I've called at least one agent, just trying to get as much info as possible.
welcome to the board, sorry you're going to tech though... make sure you bring a girl or your favorite lube with you!
Spoken like a true cow-tipper. We have to watch out for the Athens Aggy's who find their way to the big city. 8)
SCHOOL RIVALRY dude seriously, UGA, GT, whatever, ya'll's football programs have absolutely nothing on the Art Institute Football program.
Aggy??? I have nothing to do with Ag, I attend a badass biz school so i can rule the corporate world of subaru!!:bigthumb:
Another White Car!!! Welcome! If you're only going to be here for 2 and a half years, with the housing market headed the way it looks, you might want to conisder renting. At this point, it looks like your equity when buying would be negligible at best. That being said, there is a new "planned neighborhood going up just off 14th street. I will see if I can find the name/info and post it here later...
haha, so I've heard. I actually know a hot girl who goes there, she had hot friends before ... its a long shot but who knows, lol. I'm sure I won't have time for girls anyway. Worst case scenario, I can import one from michigan occasionally. Ya its hard for me to guage the market there, but it does seem depressed. What I'm hoping, and it seems so far, is that my mortgage payments would be less than rent. By all means any advice or areas you know of, fire away.
you may be able to find a nice, older place in Virgina Highlands, pretty close to tech and lots of great little restaurants/bars within walking distance. Like I said, still seems like you might be better off renting, with the quick turn around, but if you have some equity coming into the purchase, you might be able to get a little more out...good luck!
Thanks man, I check that area out. I'm still considering renting. The tax break from owning would be nice, plus it will stop me from dropping all that money on my car (or a new LGT). I'm sure I can get a house well under market value, my mom is an incredible sales person she makes the car dealers sooo mad when she buys a car, lol.
northside drive area is on the west side of tech, they have good deals, however its not the best neighborhood. (milo lives over there ) A good place to look about 10 minute drive is the grant park area/zoo atlanta, very nice. there are the centenial condos too off of techwood drive. or you can rent my place!
i'd recommend staying away from centennial apartments... i lived there for a year and its pretty ghetto... ur car will stand out from all the OLD junkers in the lot and will attract too much attention
Well I picked up my new GA bound car last Sat. So it looks like the RS stays at home. Sorry to disappoint.
Nice ride. We need more of those in atlanta. I'll be looking for a place after next year so i'd be curious to see where you end up for my own future reference.
Welcome to atlanta. The atlantic station condos are pretty nice. My friend who's at tech for grad school has one but it cost him upwards of about $170K for a simple one bedroom flat. There are alot of condos in the vinings area of atlanta, you might wanna check there. I lived in vinings my last year at tech and the commute was easy. When i was house shopping, i noticed alot of people trying to sell their condos in vinings, so you might be able to get a good deal.
Oh ya I bought a condo too (well I'm in closing). Its up off of Defoors Rd somewhere, haha. It seems like a nice area. Of course I got a Suby. A '92 Legacy Touring Wagon. I'd post pics but its at the shop. Although if it turns out to be a POS, I might be bringing the RS by default.
