hey guys, i`m moving to savannah on the 8th (my school is the savannah college of art and design), and i have a feeling that i might be bringing lots of uninstalled stuff down there, so i was wondering if we could have an install day so that i can get to know some ppl around the area and get some stuff installed. where i live right now, i usually take my stuff to Ped and he`s ALWAYS gotten everything right, but he is going to be too far away from me when i move, so i`m looking for the guru in the area.

parts i might have laying around will be the prodrive springs, MRT(noltec) camber/caster plates, and whiteline ALK. and o btw, SOG charges 89.99 for an alignment, so i was wondering if there is a similar place in savannah area that i can get the job done for around the same amount of money.

i drive a 03 MBP sedan, so i`ll see you guys around. thank!

install day? sure. i have been wanting to get one together down here for a while. i live just outside of savannah and have a 2 bay garage that we can work in, so i don't mind hosting at all.
as far as alignment goes, I got mine done at Carter Racing for around the same price. The owner of the shop (also the guy that does the alignment) knows what he is doing and has no problem w/ custom settings.

let me know when you are down here and we will get the install day planned.

sounds good hazard! a lot of students here in ATL try to make savannah into like a war zone, but when i went down there it wasnt too bad.. (i mean, there are some sketchy areas but it's not too bad really). i`m hoping to meet nice ppl and have a good time while i`m there.

there are some sketchy areas, especially in the midtown area, but if you stay aware of what is happening around you, you really won't have a problem, but that is like everywhere.

are you going to be living in one of the dorms?

yup.. the weston housing (gated with security). the cafeteria is inside the gated area so it's pretty nice.

if weston is the one that i think it is, that isn't far from where i work....also not a bad place to be living in the downtown area, especially since it is gated.
i haven't updated any of my pics recently, i still need to borrow a digi cam from someone down here.

It's a decent little city. It's some good things and bad things like every other city in America. Since you're in SCAD that'll keep you plenty busy but there's a lot happening downtown...

i was raised there, and live in statesboro ~ 30 mins away. ben, post up when you get a date for the install day, and i'll be there.

and research it. savannah at one point a few years ago high the highest murder rate per capita of ANY city in the COUNTRY.

i've always lived in the suburbs for the most part. but downtown savannah isn't bad for other crimes that much any more. its just the murder rate. and 90% of the murders are gang related. SCAD is right in the heart of all the action, but i really haven't heard of any students there being involved in anything too crazy. few fights. not a whole bunch of muggings or anything. although i did have one friend of a friend who was shot in the face when a gang jump him and some buddies outside of a bar around st. paddy's day. but that was an isolated event.

put it this way, the former police chief of los angeles left L.A. to become the police chief of savannah because he thought it would be a better "challenge".

ok, you are sounding like an alarmist....
yeah, we have our share of problems down here, but what city doesn't?
like posted earlier, just be aware of your surroundings and you will be fine.
