has anyone else here had one of those? i was in that damn tube for a half hour (maybe more). my arms were hurtin like hell cause i had to have my arms stretched over my head as i layed there. plus, i'm not super closterphobic but that def sucked as far as tight spaces go. oh yeah, holding ur breath for 30 sec's at a time w/ some crap injected in you sucked too.lol

Been thru that, I agree it sucks. Especially when they tell you have to be completely still while they do whatever. Then you think about being still and your body tenses up. Lots of fun. Hope everything turns out ok for you.

thanx. yeah...at least your feet are sticking out. and u have a call button which is good too. they gave me some headphones to listen to music. i just closed my eyes for most of the time.:p

  7. Had one done on my knee a few years back. I put the headphones on, they slid me in the tube, and I went right the hell to sleep..... I think I jerked once and screwed up a few shots, but other than that it didn't really bother me. Not saying that I necessarily enjoyed going through it.....

Hope everything works out with you..... I tried the to get into the Air Force straight out of high school..... I got to MEPS and they told me I had hypertension and tried to refer me to all these specialists, then listed me as "permanently disqualified" from the military. Went to my doc, he said BP was fine, went to physical for PD, BP was fine..... :dunno

^sorry to hear u were dq'd from the AF. however, seems like ur doing good now, and in good health.;) those docs at the MEPS are rediculous anyways. they don't know the difference between their head and ass half the time.ha

  9. Yeah, the doc that I saw supposedly cut a guy from the previous group for having dry skin.....

if you've met me, you know I'm not exactely the compact model
although I am much bigger then back then after my thyroid got cooked, anyway. Ya I've had at least 60 MRIs if not more. Next time you go for one don't get to theatric but just start wigging out a little bit, they'll give you something, if they don't get really wigged out ;) and before hand just be all :eek:hnoes: and then start breathing really heavy and erratic. Which crap was injected? iodine? cuz that's usually for a CT (aka cat) scan.

If you have to get a spinal tap make sure it's not med student monday or whatever, and make sure you get a doc that has done at least a few.

if you have any other questions on medical tests from biopsies to well ya you name it, I can let you know what to expect lol. I've had most of them, luckily no ass scope or barrium enemas ever.

I've been in the tube once to make sure I didn't have any spinal injuries. If you want to talk about being uncomfortable, go into one of those strapped to a hard plastic stretcher with a head that is cracked open but not able to be closed yet due to brain swelling. That was not fun.

i didnt have anything injected into me during any of my mri's for my knee, and it was nice bc they had a smaller machine, so that the whole body didnt have to go into it, but damn that thing was loud even with full ear protection and a radio right in ur ear
