my car is going to the shop friday. (updated 08/05/05) my valvesprings and titanium retainers came today. my car is going to the shop friday for the installs. here is the list.. - cobb "spicy" cams - cobb valvesprings and titanium retainers - apexi s-afc2 - perrin lightweight crank pulley - act clutch and lightweight flywheel w/ sti braided clutch line - sti motor mounts - sti tranny mount - dyno-tuned. and also a new cobb equal-length header and spt mid-pipe are going on. knowledge performance is going to do the install, btw.
i dropped the car off at knowledge today. they are going to baseline the car then dynotune it after the installs... im expecting 180-190whp which should put a stock or a lightly modded wrx behind with the 4.10 gears in the RS. ill have dyno sheets and videos etc soon. could get the car back as early as tuesday.
that sounds awesome, can't wait to see the output results. should feel a different car with the all the new internals (specifically the cams) i could be wrong (and you may have already heard this), but i've heard from a couple folks (i think it was scott, patrick and i that were discussing it) that equal length headers will remove the boxer engine's "rumble". just something to think about if you haven't already.
car could be done as soon as tuesday. as for the equal-length header i've heard the same thing but i don't care because you cannot really hear anything but my intake at WOT because the SPT muffler is fairly quiet anyways.
One more day! You are going to tell us what you gained right? Oh, and dont be too depressed if the numbers are lower than you were expecting cause I know for a fact, that the dyna-pak dyno at knowledge reads lower than what the car should actually put out. I dyno'd my FWD turbo and it put down 15hp more the next day on a chassis dyno with no changes (or weather changes). So focus on the power difference from the baseline.
