I called my insurance guy today to add my STI to my policy. I told him it was " just a 4 cyl Subaru - commuter car"! So I give him the VIN# and he calls me back later this afternoon - so tell me about this commuter car - hhmmmmmmm? Then he starts laughing and calls it a crotch rocket! I was laughing and trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about. Anyway he proceeds to read the specs / stats off the internet. To top things off he says on a insurance scale 1 thru 27 (as far as risk / speed) the Subaru STI is a 26 and a Ferrari is 27 on the risk scale. Well after we quit laughing and he quit reading me 0-60 times - I was told it cost me $ 800.00 to add it to my policy. Man I thought that was cheap - I guess it's my good driving record (yea for now) Brian

does that mean that if i plea 'no lo' (spelling?) for a speeding ticket out of state then a GA judge will not know that?

dunno, both of mine were for 14 over and in FL. I just paid the ticket off on time and havent heard anything since then.

Insurance hasnt raised and my driving record is clean.

just adding to an old thread

I got a speeding ticket on 85 in a construction zone doing 45 over.
I went to court and pleaded nolo and the judge reduced my fine to $125.00. Also if u plea nolo u do not get any points on your record thefor your ins. will not go up. and just so u know u can only plea nolo once every 5 years.

I would say yes If it is state court it would be diff. from state to state. When u got your ticket did u have a GA lic.

Out of state tickets will only be on your driving record if the ticketing state does reciprocity (?spelling). If they do not then your ticket does not carry over. When I got a speeding ticket in PA, the officer told me if I don't pay it I will lose me GA license. Not sure what states follow this but it would be good info to know. Then we could all go on a roadtrip lets say to South Carolina and all get busted going 120 in a 70 and just not pay the ticket and not have to worry about it.

I would rather just play it safe and pay the ticket than risk them coming after me.

Now GT parking tickets that arent on my WRX . . .:D

I believe it's 5 years per infraction of law type...
Basically, if you plead nolo for speeding, then you can't use it again for speeding but within the five years you can use it for an illegal lane change, failure to yield, etc.

Glad for those out-of-state-tickets. Wife got two in Florida. One for 120 mph and another 30 minutes later for 105 mph, she was driving my 2003 Infiniti M45 coming from Miami. She told the cop that the car did not feel it was going that fast :D Lucky for her she did not get locked up. My insurance rates never went up.
