I was driving down the interstate the other day cruising at about 80 and all the sudden i hear KABLOOOM! (the capitals are for more affect) i thought i had a flat but when i look behind me i see what is left of the front plastic inner fender tumbling down the interstate. has this happened to anyone else? i don't think i hit anything there was no one in front of me so i could see pretty far ahead of me. luckily it was a clean break and didn't even pull off the cheapy plastic screw or anything.
Have you been messing with that fender liner? If it's not attached at all the points it will rip out. I had it happen to a car I used to own...after I swapped the engine. I left some fasteners off and bam, no more liner after going 90mph.
about six months ago i took off the intake elbow so that is probably it... all of the fasteners were on there when i put everything back together. but then again look at the sig it holds true most of the time. (sighs)
I ran my front lip over after bottoming out of the car wash. Luckily it was Polyurethane and only suffered a couple of scrapes
I had my tire remove the outer rubber fender liner during a race with some wide Hoosiers. I learned I had to shave the fenders a little bit.
Heh I've had that happen but at 30 mph. Both my fender liners have holes in them from the tires rubbing where I forgot to fasten one stinking clip.
That happened twice on my old integra right after i did an engine swap. I about shat myself when I heard the noise...
i did that in my honda. except it ripped off all the way to the back and was flapping up next to my passenger mirror. i pulled over and ripped it completely off, and never ran with it again. never had any problems either...
yea had it happen in my old accord too....on the way to nopi one year and heard the loud freakin noise...checked it...and realized what happened....shrugged shoulders..oh well and drove off :wavey:
