There's this one guy who is extremely fast in an NA Impreza, can't remember what year but it was a little older. That's the way I'd go for rally cross though. Cheap beater FTW. Of course you'd have to really work on your driving skills to be fast without the power....
I wouldn't mind a beater for dirt-drivin' . Is there an active rallycross group around here, or what would it take to set one up?
http://rallytennessee.com/2007/ May be worth your time in checking out. It's a sister to the Sandblast Rally, which was a blast by the way, and is coming up. Let me know if you're thinking of riding up for it. I'm half-tempted to go volunteer. May want to try PM'ing Tal. Also, look through his journal entry, he's done some rallying.
http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12401 It seems Tal might be a good person to talk to
pester Fred on nabisco, hes won a ton of rallyx's and has a recommended setup as well. i've read a bunch about them but have never made it out to one yet...
ah, thanks guys. I'm not much of a race driver, but I'm thinking I might want to try off-roading with this Legacy I just picked up.
I'm intterested in the same thing for a 2nd in the not too distant future. I was looking at older volvos, but now i'm thinking Subaru again for the same reason.
Tarheels have a rallyx club. I am definitely thinking about the rallytenn also. It sucks that its such a long drive.
