Hey Guys, I have a growing leak on my UP that has surfaced now that my turbo back is all sealed up. It's getting worse as I drive it so I need to fix it soon. Can anyone help me fix the leak next week after tuesday? I work during the day but nights are good anytime or next weekend. i'm in atlanta now living off of moore's mill. Thanks!
post day and time and i'll try to be there. Haven't done an uppipe before, but I'll help where I'm needed
ok, so i think i may actually do it sunday. Anybody around sunday afternoon that can lend a hand? Let me know if you guys can be of any help. thanks everyone for the response. I'm driving back to ATL today from charleston and i just don't see how i can drive on it more than that. let me know-
so i'm going to be working on my car tomorrow around 4 or 5 and I could use anyone's help that has UP leak exp. or anyone that wants to just hang. Moore's Mill is off 75 inside the perimeter 1 exit south of west paces. give me a ring on the tele or post if you guys can help! THANKS
I should have my front struts done by then, and will be only ~10 mins away from ya. PM your cell no. please.
I'm out in the Snellville area, but I'm about to wrap up my poli sci paper (#1 task for the weekend) so should be available around 4-5PM. Alex or AthensWRX, PM me a phone # and some directions... and let me know if you have all the tools needed, or I'll bring them.
so if more help is availble tomorrow i can do that too. i am realizing i have nothing to do tomorrow. i pm'd you guys but if anyone else can help let me know. thanks
I got your PM... I'll give you a call a bit later, keep us posted on if you decide to move it til tomorrow. (I'm not able to go then, too much to do at work.)
so after moose and I sat under the car for about 2.5 hours, I watched him fix my car. It wasn't hard to find the leak and pics to come about that. Big UPS to moose for helping out so much. yay for being leak free for the first time since modding began!
Sorry about that Blake, that issue with my front struts had me occupied for 3 hours...I spoke with Moose later that night, glad to hear things are back together and actually torqued down
I hope it holds up for a while. There's a lot of tension in the whole setup, so in the long run I'd really recommend redoing it with fresh gaskets and torquing everything to spec and in sequence. But ya never know, this fix might last a lifetime!
i think i can already start to hear a leak coming again. I'm going to check the setup this afternoon once i get off work. i'm just doomed forever to have a leak in my car.
fresh gaskets would definitely help... mike and i had leaks at the dp/catback joint and we fouble gasketed it... hasn't leaked since
anyone have new UP to exhaust manifold gasket that i can use to fix the setup, and anyone have suggestions on how to fix a leak permanently?
Check your local Scooby dealer. My suggestion would be taking the manifold and uppipe off, put new gaskets on, torque down to spec and in the right order. Not surprised it's leaking already considering there was a ton of tension on the uppipe-manifold joint.
PS: When you have the UP off, might want to check the flange against a piece of flat glass or something to make sure it's actually flat. If it's slightly warped it'll leak again no matter what.
