I have been trying for about 2 hours to get the snap ring that holds the HKS BOV to the flange. Anyone here installed one before? I really could use some help. If I don't get this thing on today I'll have to pass on the track day at Silver Dollar.

is it different from the stocker?

i think the stocker would be impossible for me to install by myself...

Its not like the nightmare clamp that comes with the stock BOV.

This is a snap ring that fits into a grove on the flange and holds tho bov in place. I have snap ring pliers but I still can't get the ring into the grove.

I have the same exact promblem with mine that came with the ebay intercooler, so I just took the shell and put it around my boost gauge.

I can get them off! Ive removed one of my SSQV snap rings a few times. Let me know if you need some help!

Youll want to take the snap ring pliers and compress the ring completely. Then you take either a pocket screwdriver or a small angled pick and lift the ring above the groove. I believe youll want to lift as close the snap ring opening as possible (even though the pliers will get in the way somewhat.

Let me know if this helps any man!

No shit.. replace it with a t-bolt clamp if you ever have a chance. Much easier to work with.

He is talking about the big snap ring that attaches the BOV itself to the subaru-specific adapter that bolts to the intercooler.

It that PITA peice that connects the BOV to the adapter. I've done with a micro sized pick to guide it where I wanted it. It's the space and surroundings that make it such a PITA. Good luck man!
