Hey everyone, So I was cruising down 85N the other day, changing from 5th to 6th gear and when I pressed down the gas pedal, when I noticed that it took forever to build boost, rpm build up between 2k - 3k rpm was slow, and the car was really jerky all of a sudden. So I tried to figure out what was wrong. And so far I diagnostic that between 2000 - 3000 RPM usually in either 5th or 6th gear, my car feels like its losing power, takes forever to build boost or maybe the turbo to kick in and climb above 3K rpm, and its literally shaking...which has me scared. Ever now and then it seems to be okay and the car runs normal especially when I first start the car and start driving, but once Ive been driving for after 5 minutes on the highway problem arises. This only happens for high gears. Driving around local streets usually in 1st - 4th gear is ok. I tried searching. Not sure if my turbo is going bad? O2 sensor going bad? Gaskets bad? Please someone help me and offer some advice. Thanks
Maybe you have some kind of boost leak. check the intercooler and the piping. Your engine has a mass air flow sensor right? if you have a boost leak, it will mess with the mass air flow
thanks for your advice, but wasnt the problem. went and go it checked out today. Did an oil leak check...nothing. Then performed a compression test...and unfortunately...way below threshold...cylinders between 100-115. Guess I need a new shortblock...anyone got one for sale?
How many miles on your car? What mods are done to it? I would take it to a shop and let someone look over it before you start investing in a shortblock.
about 63k, major mods include: bigger turbo, perrin FMIC, 800cc injectors. I took it to the dealership and they checked it out and saw the compression way below the usual 140 psi. Unless anyone can think differently the cause?
Nope, might want to consider a new short block I thought you meant you checked the stuff yourself. Sorry man...that sucks.
