I think WRX oem wing is too BORED. So i want to switch out with something that's fuctional as well as Look GOOOD. Does anyone have recommendation?? Since i have oem wing on my trunk already, i want to buy wings that will bolt onto holes that's already on my trunks. Pictures and links will be Great!!
the s202 wing is uber sexy... apr makes a similar one... heres a pic... but i think it looks good only with some body work
how about this one found it here http://cgi.ebay.com/02-SUBARU-IMPRE...oryZ1498QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
Depending on how much you want to spend, here's the best one out there...in my opinion. http://www.rallyperformance.com/body.shtml
Just note with Rallyperformance, there is a possibility you may have to wait 5+ months to receive your order. That is my favorite wing. The Prodrive RB5 Wing is also really nice, but expensive.
Scoobysport's rear wing is sexy as shown above. Here's the RB-5 that would be on my car if i owned a sedan: http://www.scoobytuner.com/products/?vApplicationID=17&sfID1=6&sfID2=53&productID=375 fits the stock holes. The Kaminari is also nice but pricey http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=520
That kaminari is slick! I heard that about rallyperformance, that's why I bought my back box used from someone else. Hayward and Scott was on nasioc begging for dealers because of the back log :keke:
I'm thinking about getting front lip at the same time as the wing (so i can paint them together if i have to). But can't really have exotic front cuz i want to keep using ramps whenever i want to. With JDM pinks, my wrx barely clears them. I really like the scooby sport version. I remember it from nasioc. I also do like prodrive version. damn... gotta save another grand for that will give me ZERO hp~
what is fiber glass exactly?? is it strong material?? i assume that it's more like similar to plastic.
fiber glass is made by taking glass fibers (think splinter sized pieces of glass) and embedding them in epoxy (polymer/plastic). it's essentially carbon fiber made from glass instead of carbon. Depending on the orientation of the fibers and how the load it applied, you will get different strengths so there's no good answer to that question. Generally it's very light weight, usually somewhat flexible but will crack easily if a lot of weight is placed on it or it's impacted by something
The purpose of the glass fiber is to carry the load instead of putting it through the epoxy (which is very weak), but it only works when the load is oriented in the same direction as the long axis of the fiber. if you try and go across the width, it will simply crack the epoxy.
The delays with the Scoobysport have nothing to do with the backlog of Hayward and Scott. Hayward and Scott actually have nothing to do with the wing. It is more about the poor customer service from Rallyperformance. I have no problem waiting a while to get good quality parts. What I do have a problem with is not being able to contact the company I am buying the parts from for a month because they won't answer their phone or reply to emails. I actually had to search for a phone number for Ken Cole on Anywho.com. Ended up calling his father, explaining the whole story of why I was calling, and he was nice enough to give me his sons home phone number. His dad even called me back the next day to ensure I got ahold of his son. He felt so bad for me due to all the problems I had getting the muffler. I may eventually switch to the Scoobysport Spoiler, if I can find it used or somewhere else. I refuse to give Rallyperformance any more money at this point. I hate it because ever since I got my 02 WRX I have pretty much relied on thier site for parts and information. Everything I want for my car, they have, but again, They will not get another dollar from me.
Polyurethane is a polymer/plastic (sorry I haven't memorized the formula for urethane), that behaves a lot like a rubber.... mainly it flexes well without fatiguing (wearing out over time) much. It's water resistant, resistant to a lot of oils and other chamicals which is why you see it used as a lining and in gloves a lot. It's not porous either so small particles are not likely to pass through it. The main reason that it's used in bushings (I assume this is why you're asking) it because while it flexes like rubber it does not compress like rubber so you essentially get better load transfer through a poly bushing than a rubber one. Also, it is much more resistant to thermal cycling (expansion and contraction caused by heat and cold) than rubber so it will be much less likely to crack, flake, and wear out from sunlight and basic temperature shifts. I think it's thermal expansion is also less than rubber so it should behave much more predicably in all environments. I should note though that a lot of the exact properties are dependent on chain size, density, etc, but they should usually behave as described above with very subtle nuances.
here u go: [3-[2-[2-[2-(3-hydroxybutoxy)propoxy]-1-methyl-ethoxy]-1-methyl-ethoxy ]carbonylamino-4-methyl-phenyl]aminoformic acid
No, Rallyperformance is the only Scoobysport Dealer in the US. The Spoiler is only available thru Rallyperformance, in the US and abroad.
Hey WRXFan420, just to clarify: I wasn't stating H & S were the problem with the wing being back-logged, I was just showing that rallyperformance is slow as hell and their manufacturers were upset at them. Apparently they are the only ones that sell the wing though. ***Hayward and Scott just make the exhaust parts if others don't know*** HaywardandScott.com FYI daddysscp.com also sells the exhausts by H&S
I really wanna see somebody put a Spec C spoiler riser under their stock spoiler. I cant find any pics but it looks good.
