Today I had a flat and the lock key for my lugnuts cracked. My father came down and picked up my welder a few weeks ago and he is in MA. I need someone to let me use or weld something for me. I will throw out a six pack for whoever wants to lend a hand. Let me know.. Thanks!

That bribe will work at any shop around 4:45pm, if you want to make the drive south you can come down to the shop and take care of it.

Take a slightly smaller socket and hammer it onto the lock. The teeth inside the socket will bite enough to remove it. Locking lugs are a joke... just makes honest people's lives more of a PITA.

The thing is the wheel nuts are made to fit the socket. I have to take them off of every wheel. They arent the kind where there is 1 lock nut and the rest are regular.

good luck with it. wish I could help..

Also, don't throw out a perfectly good 6 pack! Give that to someone! :p

  6. is there a way to get a new key? I have locks on all of my wheels but you could easily go to an autoparts store and find the key you need to remove them

Do you have the spline lug nuts? If so and the socket is tool steel, you may get one pass before it breaks after welding. May have to just buy another socket

When I lost my key a LOOOONG time ago on my old 3000GT VR4 I just did the hammer-socket trick onto all 20 lugs. It sucked sweaty, hairy, pack-mule balls, but it worked.

Try one of those Gator Grip sockets. I manage apartment communities and on more than several occasions people have had their wheels stolen by someone getting the locks off with one of those sockets.

If you want to try the welder though, I have one and your more than welcome to stop by. I'm in Woodstock off 92 near Hwy 5.
