I latly have highly improved my gas mileage. I was getting between 15-19mpg on average and about 210 miles per tank. I have been riding with my stock exhaust back on and have changed jobs and drive a lot more freeway and am now getting 27mpg on average. Yesterday after achieving well over 300 miles per tank i checked my gas mileage and had reached a new personal high of 29.916 mpg on 93 octane. My car has 97k miles on it now, and i am utterly impressed.:wiggle:
Damn I was getting mileage like that with a fuel leak. Since I fixed it I just got a record high of 280 miles on the last fillup, including lots of wasting gas on WOT runs.
lol, i always try to drive a whole tank conservatively... That never works. I always end up going WOT from red lights at night :/
I was hoping that I would manage 27 last tank of gas. Instead got more like 24 This thing bites you if you play. Oh well.
i was rather impressed, its only gonna last another 2 weeks however because then the exhaust is going back on.
I'm the same on regular commutes. Althought my road trip to NC at the weekend I was getting v close to 300 per tank. I guess that means I should drive at lower revs on my morning commute..bah..no way And another noob question...what is 'WOT' ?
I drove from memphis back to atlanta (month or so ago) With my wagon fully loaded (cant even see the rear thru the back window) conditions 88-93 deg F Drive time 6+ hrs 3 stops - 1 fuel 5 gal and 1 pit stop and 1 fuel 10.5 gal AC on set at 75deg but occassionally turn of to pass or when it gets a tad too cold fan set at lowest (i knotch above the auto dial) AP stg1 93 oct v130 Recently changed Mobil1 10-30 and Amsoil rear Dif Tire pressure 35F 33R approx 20 min of light traffic in birmingham and atlanta Avg speed on my GPS 72mph (incl traffic) 442 miles 15.5 gal = 28.5 mpg I am impressed and i did a couple of 120 mph (3-5 sec) run and pass a couple of trucks WOT on 3rd gear Stock exhaust with 16x6.5 stock wheels
is there a way to check for fuel leaks on your own?.. if you suspect fuel leak..shouldn't u be able to smell it?
should be, or you would probably see it somewere on the undercarriage. What makes you think you have a leak?
I don't know..just seems like my car is burning more gas than it should... maybe its because im not used to it, i dont know...i had a civic..=p
