Sorry for all you guys still using the v1 it will not work, but for those of us using the v2 (I am a recent convert) you can, for a limited time go to cobbs site and download a copy of their accesstuner Race software for free!! This is almost the exact same software that is used by the pro-tuners. Same as the $400 street tuner advanced that I used to use. Just something to consider for those of you sitting on the open source/Cobb AP fence!

Is the download only available to current V2 users...or could I download it with the anticipation of getting V2 in the future?

    Going to go try...

It only works with the latest firmware. I had to update. Now if you are pro=tuned and your tuner locks the tune, you will not be able to do anything.

For anybody who is Protuned, it won't work unless your tuner gives you your maps in Race format. As far as I can tell, none of the Protuners are planning on sharing their maps in Race formats... it allows full publishing of all values :(

Actually Christian gave me a map in pro-tune format (my old ST E85 map that he converted for me) and I was able to read it and work with it. It seems it is a matter of if the tuner locks the map or not. They are currently working on a method to have it locked but still be able to datalog at least with the software, so that the customer of the tuners can at least data log to make sure their car is running ok. Not sure when that is going to come out.

It is a matter of intellectual property and all that, which I completely understand. The tuners are just trying to protect their livelihood. But I guess this gives people a method of tuning until they have all their stuff ready and all the mods they plan on installing and are finished modding.

Yup, I tired to open up Siegel's map and it said error loading base map. Oh well, I guess I will just have to bug siegel to send me maps with more boost:) instead of me editing it myself:)

Yes many tuners lock it so that you have to come back to them for any changes. I feel that if they were secure in their work people would want to come back realizing what good work they did. I also think it is kind of silly as no pro-tune is going to work exactly on another car, even if they had the same mods. Every car tunes just a little bit different. What works great on one car, could blow the motor on another one. Take for instance the 20g wrx that doug tuned recently...had to go about extracting power in a whole different way from normal.

Well, just to update, started working with this and after a couple glitches at the start, I have it up and running. It seems to be a good program although not horribly more impressive than STA. It does have a couple additional tables other than that, I do not see to many glaring differences.

I actually just downloaded the race maps tonight. I am going to look and see what kind of changes they made to the map and just kind of compare to the changes I have made. Should be interesting! This thread is actually about Access Tuner Race. If you have a V2 AP you can go to cobbs's website and sign up and get Access Tuner Race for the Cobb APv2 which allows you (or someone else) to tune your car.
