I found my new toy in rochester NY
Started with ATL airport delays, missed my connection in DC and had to divert to Syracuse and drive a rental to Rochester. Didnt leave Rochester till after 4 pm (3 hrs off schedule).

Storm hit quite badly and thats when the real test drive came handy. Cars were crawling all over and many cars in ditches and my new toy cruised by 40-45 easily and not losing a beat just me worried that i may not be used to the traction yet so i was babying it. Sleet sets in and I didnt want to gamble and pull in for some grub and then i cant even pop my gas door open frozen solid. Im now safe in a hotel in PA and try to head to NC mountains tomorrow if weather permits. If the truck drivers start pullin off the road I suggest you follow.

Should take a before and after picture of the new toy. The seller took it to get detailed before i picked so i can look at every nicks and scratches and all.

Will update later I need to get some sleep and check the weather.

    Overall - AWESOME
I had some fun at the parking lot of a grocery store too. Hey its paid for ;)

Grats!! I know you have been looking for awhile which makes it that much mor sweet. I have a feeling, if your "Z" is any indication, that we will be seeing another heavily modded rex before too long.

Sounds a little like my drive down from Chi town when I got mine. Missed the snow but had hella rain and fog. The sub handeled like butter. That is a helluva a journey for a car. Sounds fun though. Just think no salt down here! Hope you make it safe!

sorry my 300z is stock 240sx modded

My balance between modding and utilizing the warranty is a fine line.

    Here is my list
    intake
Gauges - oil pres, EGT, boost
up and down pipe and maybe catback
    Computer management
    3" catback
roll bar and tower bars front and stiffen the rear with custom "U" brace so i can still use the space.
SS brake lines and brake pads
    17" summer wheels
    stiffer springs and maybe coilovers

thats it unless i get good deal parts

When the engine starts to feel week
JDM STI swap with 6 speed
By that time there will be plenty available.

The reason i waited was because i want the price to come down.

The car has gone through hell and its on its way back
Sleet, Ice, Snow, Slush, mud, and then me
Im in NC and I have been babying it but i do notice the 2nd to 3rd is really weak (stock). Im near Mt mitchell and 3400 ft elevation and it will snow again tonight and Ill go play tomorrow on my own. The woman has been holding on the "oh shit" handle on the corners and hairpin turns so i backed off and there arent many corners with guard rails here.

    thanks for the warning

Its not worth the few minutes of fun especially the road iced up last night 25deg its still below 32 now. And I dont know the limits of this car yet and hate to find out 3 days after i got the car.

    Thanks for the warning

The way it is now its muddy and snow stained

It will be weeks before i get it too the point it will look presentable. Ive got some snow pics but im on dialup here in the mountains. Will be returning to GA tomorrow afternoon.

First ill give it a good bath and then start planning how to detail the car. Previous owner not meticulous and has brush marks - brushing snow of the car

Ive kinda decided that I will keep it stock for a while and reap the warranty benefits. So Ill work on the control and suspension first. Then Ill Start working on the pipes - gutting it so it will look like stock and I guess the AP before the pipes. I Heard the cars do run close to the lean side.

I think they do run lean. I believe it Depends on the weather more so in realation to the PCU. Not nearly as bad as the Ford I used to own though.

They run rich as hell once in open loop. It's during closed-open loop transition where they will run very lean under boost (for a couple secs), which is bad.
