  1. Ok so im ordering my 17's this week but not sure what size tires to get so heres my choices
    205 40hr 17
    215 40hr 17
    215 45hr 17
    225 45zr 17

Now i do alot of interstate driving and id be lieing if i said i never went over 100mph. Which would be my best choice. Also what do you think would look better the rota grids in gold or bronze or the rota boost in bronze or gold. I like both of them but cant make up my mind.
    TIA

i'd say so... you sedan owners have got the fender flares, unlike us wagons. i'm running 225's

  9. well i think im going with the 17x8 rota boost in gold with sumitomo 225 45zr 17.
THe total cost with new lugs, mounted balanced and shipped to my door is 1016.00
Yea more then 4 new tires for my 18's but i wanted smaller wheels to start with.

Personally I would go with 245/40/17 on an 8" wide rim.

  12. you know i wish i knew what the numbers ment on tire size.....Why would you go 245 4017

Well, 245 is the width in mm - 40 is the sidewall height in mm - and 17 is the diameter of the wheel it fits in inches.

Anyways, 225s are kind narrow for an 8" wide rim. The min. I would go would be a 235 which is what wagon owners do if they have an 8" wide rim. 245s will give you the most amount of contact patch available for an 8" wide rim. This is why I would go with it, but i like to carve corners so that is more important to me and i figure it is to you if you want an 8" wide rim.

The 40 for the sidewall will make it stiffer, which is also a benefit if you like to carve corners, but it also decreases your chances of rubbing if you are lowered that much.

    Just my .02 cents

The 40 sidewall height (aspect ratio) is really sweet looking, but can be very bad for the rim if you plan on getting autox time with these tires. I have seen a lot of roll over and rim scraping at different autox events with too low of a sidewall. The 225 is very nice though. 235 is great, 245 can be pushing it, but it will still work. The rota's are the perfect bang for the buck. I use the gold rota attacks 17x7.5 with Nitto NeoGen 225/45/17.

Bump up the tire pressure if you're getting that much rollover.
