I went to get my emissions does this afternoon, everything was good to go until they plugged into my port.
He was having a hard time aka unsuccessful at having his handheld connect with my ecu. Said that there was either some kind of loose wiring harness at the port, blown fuse, something stupid that was not allowing the ecu to communicate our hold a connection.

    Thoughts?

I have almost a month to get it fixed but I still gotta figure it out.

I have the same issue. I had my AP to prove it works. In my case, I had to hold the connector with slight pressure to one side for communications to work. Took a few tries, but we knew we had it when it didn't fail after 10 seconds.

Do you have an AP to test? (or some other from of ECU reader)?

    shim it

Bring some tape and ask if you could just add one wrap to the plug or connector to snug it up.
