I went to TS about a year ago, to simply swap my (M) tyranny fluid. During the process the tech decided to try to access the filler neck without removing the intercooler and/or with no pump, simply poured. He dumped what I am guessing close to a quart of tranny fluid into and around the turbo housing prior to noticing he was missing. He did tell me this happened; I though he might have cleaned it up. I was wrong

The tranny fluid baked on to the up-pipe, down pipe etc. I verified this at SOG since I thought I might have a fouled o-ring at the oil line on the turbo based on where the smoke was originating from. The tech showed me the extent of the spill. A year later I am still getting puffs of smoke out of the hood scoop. Any advice on a solvent that may get this stuff off. I have used just about every brand of engine cleaner to no avail.

Hate to say it but you might have to take the up-pipe off and degrease and wire brush it.. The fluid could have settled between the heatsheild and pipe also.
