The parts manager at a certain Subaru dealership says there is no difference...you decide.

I thought WJM went over this a few months ago? The blue filters are made by Honeywell (Fram) and the black filters are made by Tokyo Roki or whoever that JDM company is that use to make all Subaru Filters. I think he stated NOT to use the blue filters. I have been using the black filters from a H6 on my car without any clearence issues or leaks.

Damn! I recently bought a 6 pack of the blue filters from SOG.

But they told me that was the new replacement and the black filter was no longer available.

I would if they had the black ones in stock. I'll check with SOK.

The fliters for the H6 motors are still the black ones and I haven't had any problems with using them on my 2.5 motor. Matter a fact, WJM was the one that first tested it to make sure it would fit.

I got a blue one last time I bought one from SOK and I think I have always gotten the blues on the GR.....:unamused:

I will for sure ask for the H6 AA031 next time...

I am glad I have a couple left from when I bought them. Subaru Genuine Parts may still have some online as well.
