I saw crash #2's thread. Seems like I have the same issue...it started immediately after reinstalling the stock up/dp (like in the garage at PeDs house...). I chalked it up to PB blaster initially, but after getting home a couple days ago, I noticed a little puddle of oil under the car. The leak is def. coming from somewhere under the turbo. No oil at all above it. I have the shop manual so will look up the "oil return line" location, but anyone have any other thoughts as to what it might be? I am lucky and don't have to have my car back together until Sunday, and have tomorrow and Friday morning (plus a little time Sunday) to work on it. I have taken the intercooler off, removed the heat shield from the turbo and am about to pull the DP off yet again. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, and if anyone is free between 9-5 or so tomorrow and wants to come help, I will provide lunch/refreshments....

sounds like the oil return line on the bottom of the turbo is not seated properly into the oil return hose. it is very tricky and I had problems with it when I went back to stock.

shot in the dark but also inspect your oil filter and drain plug.

Filter and plug are clean. I have read quite a bit and it does have all the symptoms of the return line being loose. I just am not sure how to get to the return line. I have read that you need to remove the up in some threads, other say you have to remove the turbo...neither of which am I hoping to do....

you will not have to remove the up but you will have to loosen the bolts that connect the up to the turbo. you will have to remove your dp. the oil return line is directly beneath the turbo and it shoots straight down. it is a very difficult place to work around and and also is very hard to see. on top of that the return hose itself is pretty small (atleast on my 03 it was). They could have made it atleast an inch longer. i work till 6pm tomorrow but if you are still working on it I can stop by after work and lend a hand if you want

    Kris,
I appreciate it, but Celine is still in Africa, so, all my work time is during the day when Fiona is at daycare...there is quite a bit of oil on the under side of the turbo itself I think. Would the oil return line spray up and then leak down? I will also be working on this Friday morning ( I would imagine...) for awhile if anyone else can come then...

I did the same thing when I first installed my uppipe. I just removed the downpipe and you can see the rubber hosing (same as Weapon). It has to spring loaded clamps, that you squeeze together to loosen. Move the clamp down to the middle of the hose and pop it on. It helps to have smaller hands. Once on, move the spring clamp back over the turbo oil return nipple.

I remember seeing oil gushing out from under my car the first time I did it and started it up, almost cried. This was my first mod experience ever, luckily I didn't give up.
