ok, so if I buy tires online... whats the best way to get them on the car?

Discussion in 'Modifications & DIY how-to' started by StarquestAndyR, Jul 27, 2006.

  1. I can find deal after deal from an online shop for awesome tires, but after that who should I turn to?

Anyone have any good experiences from shops in the marietta/woodstock area? I will also need an alignment at the same time, so a shop with that capability is important.

    Thanks.

I use Big 10 tires when I order stuff online. The local one doesn't complain about mounting tires elsewhere; NTB here refuses to do it.

as long as the tires are larger than a 40 profile, SOG will be able to mount them for you... they also have an aligiment rack

im not 100% sure but i believe topspeed would be able to take care of you too?

  4. SOG is definitely on my short list, but they are far from where I am right now. :)
I just got a sweet set of gold sti wheels from Trey, but they have no rubber left on them at all. I'm driving on cords.

I will give Big 10 a call for a price check. Thanks.

Topspeed I think takes them to Big 10 on hwy 9.

I had tirerack drop ship them to SoG for me. Turns out SoG would have been able to match their price...

I use Kauffman Tire at Barrett and Dallas Hwy. Last time I went the manager said he would mount and balance the tires for free if you purchased through them. If they don't carry it, they will buy the tires through tirerack for you. I don't know if they can do an alignment.

I also recommend Gran Turismo East on shallowford rd. They can do it all.

One vote for SOG. GTE does a nice job as well...

i have ordered from discount tire online and actually took them to a local discount tire and had them mounted free a few times...

  10. Well, I went with Big10 tire on 41 near dobbins AFB. Decent place.

I also got an alignment, and the car goes straight again. :D

    Thanks for the recommendations guys!

I've also seen it done with four guys standing on the tire while one works a crowbar (at the DoubleX).

I'm not fond of SoG's sticky weight mounting techniques.

I always prefer to use Discount Tire, they are fine with mounting tires that they did not sell and are experts in their field.

    Post some pics Andy!
