ok so the other day at the varsity i road out when it was hot to get a good spot and when i got there i was talking to xanrules and after i closed my hood the coolant hose to my turbo(it exploded into 4 pieces) that got fixed before i left but in the process i found that the boost line that goes to my wastegate had split in half so i replaced it with some hose from autozone and now i only boost to 7 pounds and im slower then half dead turtle...... y could this be? because it boosted fine before i replaced it.... does hose size make a difference?because i think its close to the same size maybe a little smaller and also im driven to texas sometime this week to move into our new house down there so 1300+ miles and 20 hours of driving
There is a restrictor pill in the line set...the way the system works you need that pill in the line for it to work correctly and run more than wastegate pressure (7psi).
Same thing happened to me. I was getting the car dyno'd at topspeed and first two pulls it was only 7lbs. Which was about 180hp to the wheels. They saw it was missing the pill and put one in for free. Third pull was 212hp.
i will say that when i discovered the crack in the line i put electric tape and i happened to not be thinking and punched it and it was abnormal and the boost gauge said 20 pounds and i stopped and checked it then went home and replaced it and thats when the 7 pounds started and i raced a honda who ive raced before and won(buy 5 car lengths) but this time just about dead evennand i got beat by a v6 mustang by about a car length both cars were stock........ so i guess tomorrow ill go see if i got paid and head out to ........ where should i got for an alignment and to get the pill......
These "races" you're talking about were done on (or at) a track right?? As far as the alignment, go to Gran Turismo East. The BEST place in Atlanta to get an alignment. As Siegel said, any Subaru dealership should have a pill. Make sure you take something with your VIN # on it, as the parts person will need it.
i wish i had the extra cash to dyno so i could keep you guys posted on the power lose so if anyone works at a shop and is curious about the power lose ill bring it buy
sshf coarse i went to the track with a slow car doesnt everybody.... i would never raceoff a track any idea how much for a all wheel alignment? cause i got 1 right now for $75 all wheel
i also need a chamber because this curb ran out in front of me the other day and my front left is way off
ROFLMAO!! Wow, that was wrong, but just sooooo funny. Also be wary of the places that do the $75 alignments...they then proceed to charge you for every little thing they want to do to it. Torch a bolt...$50, shim it, $80, the mechanic had to think hard about a situation $50 more. Just make sure what is and is not included in that $75.
