'01 RS2.5 -- I've got 53K on my original rotors and rear pads, and about 30K on the front pads. The rotors need turning (got a lip on the top edge), and I don't know if I'm going to hit the turn limits or not. So, I'm thinking, what the heck, why not replace them with some drilled and maybe slotted rotors. eBay is my favorite place to shop, especially after looking at the prices from Subaru and Advanced. My real question is, does anyone have any opinions on these rotors? I realize that two are not slotted, and the other two are. I'm interested in opinions about manufacturers, why I should stay far, far away from them, or if these should do just fine. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320108717927 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170106819628 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200107637011 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250112311192 I don't run road courses, and rarely get into heavy braking (except when I'm chasing the two STi's I see on P'tree Industrial between Flowery Branch and Norcross during drive time. You know who you are ) I'm probably going to go ceramic pads in the front and semi-metallics in the rear, unless someone advises otherwise. Any info appreciated. Oh, and anything I need to watch out for? I used to do brake jobs on all my cars years ago, but haven't since at least '93. Shouldn't be anything special about a RS2.5 that I'm aware of. --jc
Look for Design Rotor Technology on Ebay also known as DPR. If you can't find them let me know and I will post the sellers' ebay name. I got the STi rotors from them and they are EXCELLENT from looking at them. They look identical to Rotora rotors. I will be installing them tonight so I will have pics up in another thread.
