I just ordered a perrin downpipe and perrin mech boost control(SOG), i believe I can manage to install the downpipe( with the help of marriedwrx04), but has anyone ever installed the boost control. By the way scott is going to do a ecutek reflash on it after i install parts, i cant freaking wait. My only fear is that i will not be able to stop moding.
i dont think so... mine didnt throw a CEL when i had mine for 2 months before ECUTEK... and alex has a DP installed but i doubt he threw a CELL either...
you wont throw a cel with ecutek..also you dont need an mbc with ecutek but you will get faster boost response with an mbs..the stock boost silinoid is slower to respond..congrats again on the new piping..let me know if u need any help with the install

Everytime i think i have something firgured out, someone says the complete oppisite. I just gave up and let him talk me into it. I'll learn one of these days, but until then I am just going to have to depend on others advice.
i mean really, how many STIs around here are really hooked up? i know there are a few but that doesnt give you many options on which way to go. I dont doubt for a second that scott has it together. Judging by what everyone else says that goes to him, he is the man, he builds them the way they need to be built specifically for the owner of the car. thats unique and you wont find that anywhere else. most have a simple formula that they go by, but where is the fun in that? then all of our cars would be the same. i hope everything works out well for you man, let me know about the perrin downpipe. hopefully it will seel up right and wont leak on you.
awesome chris! can't wait to see how the ecutek works out for ya! my plans are for SoG to do the ecutek and the TBE set up for now. perrin is good stuff, but expensive. at least the perrin stuff for the SRT.
well after saturdays meet, i decided to add to my downpipe, with the Perrin Catback exhaust. they should both be here in the next week. oh yeah, then ecutek. I think ii will be done after that for a while, except for new tires.

ok the catback will be here thursday, its funny it been 3 week since i ordered a downpipe from SOG, which i havent seen, and only a week since i ordered the catback. anyway anyone want to come help me install it thursday evening? i am right by the atl airport, i am going to install with or without help because i wont get a chance for the next two weekends
my parents will be back in town on thursday and will be here till wednesday next week... so i probably wont be able to make it out much while they are here
well the catback is installed, and may i say it sounds f#ckin' awesome.. man i cant wait to get the downpipe and ecutek, and then dyno, going to try and smash my last dyno, 253hp, 263tq
sorry to say i'm not going to be able to make it. i have to work this weekend. my downpipe should be here by tuesday this week, so i am sure i will be at the install day on the 21. by the way how long does it take scott to do the ecutek reflash? planning on getting it done the 28th
28th is the mountain run... also im not sure if scott works on saturday... for ecutek tuning on a turboback STi, i think it takes 3 hours on average... but some take longer
got the downpipe on finally, friday, took a hour and a half to install by myself. man this thing is loud know! i am know getting a pesky cel. quick question, do i need to get the cel fix or will ecutek take care of it for me? oh yeah anyone got plans for monday, i see the g2g has been cancelled.
UP and DP. How much would a reasonably priced UP and DP go for?. Should I get mine on eBay?. Have u had good luck on eBay for those types of parts?. Thx, Mark
i went with a perrin,so i paid $355(6 Bux over MSRP) for the downpipe, there are a lot of different UP and Dp for sale. if u are trying to save money, gutting the UP is an option, and picking aup a DP for 150-200. here are a few http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/uppipedownpipe.htm
