Hello all, my first post on the local forum. I have been pretty involved with Subarus for about ten years. I've had my OBP STi for about two years now. I was leery of black at first, but it looked so good that I decided to take the plunge. But now, two years on, it is in serious need of a refresh to the paint. I'm thinking clay bar and then a polish. I have quite a few light scratches and swirl marks. I really don't have the time or patience to do it myself. Are there any recommended body shops or specialists in the greater Atlanta area. I'm in Warner Robins, so anything closer in that direction would be desirable.

spend the $100 and buy a porter cable random orbit. learn to do it yourself (it's damn near impossible to fuck something up with a random orbit) and then pat yourself on the back for learning something new and not paying someone to do simple things

we've discussed it on here the steps and the process, but I can go into more detail of the method if you're interested (just don't PM me)

We have a very friendly community here. I pretty sure that if you ask around you can get someone to lend you a porter cable random orbit for a weekend.

I appreciate all of the help in finding ways to do it myself. I just don't have the time to spend doing it, though. The 5 or 6 hours it would take an experienced shop to do it correctly would take me several days. So if anyone else has experience with the local shops let me know. Zen is looking pretty good right now.

The detailer that my shop uses does an amazing job with Milk of Magnesia as a paint cleaner.

Above and Beyond Mobile Detailing...he will come to you, guys name is Willie, and he does amazing work. Your car will look new again, and his prices are fairly reasonable.

Found a guy in Waner Robins area. His website is mikesmobilecc.com. He did a great job removing the fine scratches in the paint for a reasonable price. He does it on the side and will come to you or do it in his garage.

It will take you 6 hrs top to diy. 2-3 hours if you can get a buddy to wipe down behind you while you polish.

My STI is OBP too. I do it myself. I've used an orbital, and i've done it by hand too. Much better satisfaction once you've completed it. $50 in products, 4-5 hours, a case of beer, and a start time of 4:20pm is all you need
