First off, I would NOT recommend linking an account you really use for other things with Paypal. They have a history of locking transactions, pulling money out of accounts when they shouldn't, all sorts of nastiness. Open up one of the free checking accounts with some local bank if you need to link it.

You can get the routing # from your bank. If you look on their website for wire transfers or ABA, you'll probably find it there. It's the same # that's used for transferring money in and out of the account from other sources.

I have 141 verified buys/sells over 5 years and 8 months and have never had an issue with paypal. It is linked to my account and have used it for ebay, forum trading, websites, etc. Just be careful to whom you paypal money.

i ve never had a problem with paypal ever. ive used it for 6 years. you can use your debit card insted of the cedit card. the only reason they want the routing number ofr your account is thats how they send you money if you want to trnsfer from paypal to your bank account. (like direct deposit)

  5. Paypal charges too much fees haha.

Anyways, you can also get the paypal debit card which allows you to use the money in your paypal account with the paypal bebit card so you don't have to wait 3-4 days to transfer back to your account. If you apply for something special, you also get 1% cash back and also have monthly earnings if you keep a balance in your account. ;)

Yes, paypal charges entirely too many fees. I have used it for a while now and I have not had any issues. I do have very little faith in them though, Ive seen entirely too many lawsuits come up as of late here.

yes, they get hacked pretty regularly as well. of course the only problem is that when an acct gets hacked, usually the goods purchased with the hacked acct is on the "banned goods" list, which in turn terminates your account and any civil recourse you have (i.e. requesting the documentation of said transactions) since you are "no longer a client" as per their EULA. you get permanently banned. then you have to get the lawers involved... funny, huh?

it gets funnier... they are owned by ebay, which SELLS many of the "banned goods"(adult toys, etc of that nature) which they will close your account for purchasing.

i know 3 other people this has happened to now. i still use paypal, but i don't connect anything other than CC to it. moose's idea of creating a dummy account for it is a good idea as well.
