There is a PCA autocross event (Porsche Club of America) at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds on Sunday. Here is the info from the webpage: It should be fun. I will be there, as will my wife. I hope to see more WRXatl people out there -- Brian
My cousin is the Autocross coordinator for the PCA here. He loves to talk cars but mainly does Porches and Miatas. He actually just got a job at OPM. Anyways, hit him up if you go over there. His name is TJ. Pretty big guy with thinning black hair,,,hahaha. Don't tell him I said that. I will try to stop by as well...
Nope...last time I was out, there was a highly modded 350z and a reaaaaly highly modded eclipse that were fast as hell....
Man that was a pretty fun autox. I arrived late after getting my tire patched and the nice people at PCA let me run anyways. There was like 7 or 8 evos and just three scubies (brian and wayne in blue bug eyes). My friend in his turbocharged miata got FTD overall.
M, I saw you out there but wasn't sure it was you till I saw you standing next to the sti as I was leaving. I had stopped by with my wife and baby to show the baby to my cousin. Glad you had a good time, and I can't wait for the day when I will have a FI two seat roadster again.....
enjoyed coming out and hanging out how did you and wayne do? im gonna come ride this w/e not sure if i can make it to turner field but im gonna try and i think i am gonna start working towards doing auto x now just need some more mods. =)
It was good to meet Brian and Wayne out there. I didn't catch their times, and they should be posted on the Porsche site sometime in the future (or so I was told). I enjoyed seeing the other Wayne beat all the Porsches with his turbo'd Miata. Hope to see more of you guys at the events next weekend. There are 3 events, and I will make a new post for them. -- Brian
It was nice meeting everyone today, and thanks for the water M-chan! My best time was my first run with a 49.8something. Sorry I don't remember my exact time. The 993 Turbo driver (Jack) was nice enough to ride with me as an instructor after my first run. He was able to show me several of my mistakes that I would not have noticed otherwise. I had a great time and I'll be sure to make it to the next one.
I'm pretty easy to spot, i always have massive helmet hair ! Sorry i missed you Scott. I'll definitely be at the next PCA event, the people were extremely nice.
you don't need mods ot Autocross, you need to tune the nut behind the wheel. To anyone interested in Autocross, come out to the novice school on the 23rd and get some learning www.soloatlanta.com for info
