that's actually due to the difference in the h4 and the h6. That 6 cyl. is throwin the RPM's off. It is an awesome video though. That things sounds awesome!!!
Oh ok that explains it, then why would you want an h6? I would stick with the H4 we already have which is built for boosting! Right!
Yeah so 5,000 is 3,200 rpm. Sti cluster is seriously taking out. I had to remind myself it was the H6 motor when i was watching the video. The car is unique, but its alot of money. I would have loved to have seen the speedo up close and see how fast he was going. It just didn't seem that fast except for the last run when it appeared he slipt the clutch around 3200 rpm. Its still pretty cool, Perrin wanted to be the first and they didn't waist anytime doing it...
he means that when the tack was reading 5000rpm's that it was only really revving at 3200 rpm's because its a H6 not an H4 so it looked like he was always revving around 9 grand in the video.
I think it was about two SubieSport's ago but I remember there is someone out there building H6 turbos with stronger engine internals. Anyone remember what I'm talking about or have that issue?
i heard of one that had twin gt30r turbos and a supercharger http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=840806
^^ except I believe thats still an H4 I think I've heard of someone doing two smallish turbos on an H6, but I can't remember where I've seen it before
i belive thats a great set up, 2 small turbos maybe 2 16 g's on double top and front mount IC, on a H4 or H6 would be a great setsup
It's pretty wild... Porsche has been making some badazz H6 turbos for years though. Corky Bell praises the old 911's like no other in his book "Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems" and those weren't even watered cooled. Here's a link to some info on Porsche's latest and greatest high, and not so high-powered H6 engines. http://carseeker.tbo.com/carseeker/MGBD83BFGME.html It seems like Subaru could make a mean H6 turbo if they really wanted to IMO. This is where the second post merges.... And here's the link to some serious boost related reading if anyones interested: http://btobsearch.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?z=y&btob=Y&ath=Corky+Bell
