hey guys, i just want a double-din, touchscreen headunit that plays music from ipod and cd-r, dvd, div-x etc.. (nothing fancy like navi, bluetooth, back-up camera) that will also give me good sound quality (even though i dont expect much upgrade from stock bugeye hardware). which one would you get between the pioneer avh-p4000, or the panasonic cqvw100u? i`ll also take suggestions because i am a noob at this. thanks i also need the price to be UNDER $300 and prefer to keep the 6-CD changer. (both the pioneer and pana can be had for under $300).
I wouldn't buy panasonic just because they are getting out of car audio all together this year...just not a good chance of warranty
from my experience, the pioneer headunits that i have owned in the past have far out lasted the panasonic ones. my current pioneer has been in 3 different cars and has worked flawlessly for the past 6 years, whereas the panasonic i had before that only lasted for 1 year.
Can't speak for the Panasonic, but I put the Pioneer in my car over the holidays and I'm loving it. Couple iPod connection errors here or there that are remedied by reconnecting the iPod are all I've run into as far as trouble.
Always loved panasonic parts. Head units and such have always performed flawlessly. Never had any issues. Not sure about nav systems, but all their stuff I have owned (mobile and home) has always been great!
well, the nav is nice but i dont need it that much really.. the avh-p4000 plays divx and allows direct control to your ipod also.. i think i`m leaning towards the pioneer for the sheer sound quality and brand name over the panasonic's bigger screen and better picture quality. and i dont really wanna spend over $300 on a headunit.
arghh i hate how u have the stuff i want on your car first haha. glad u like it bro u should show it to me sometimes
After being in the Car Audio industry for over a decade, I would get a Pioneer anyday over a Panasonic product.
The last few pieces I saw was not made in Japan. Then again, neither was some of the Pioneer, Alpine, Clarion, etc....
back in my sales days, Matsushita was the ONLY game still making stuff in Japan. (technics, panasonic, etc)
