I am getting a pitch stop and was seriously looking at the Group N, which is the standard, but I have seen this billet pitch stop on ebay that would definitely be stiffer. Do you see any downside to the billet one?
Well I think it's supposed to move around a little bit. And I mean we're talking about a millimeter or less but it makes sense that a totally rigid piece might be.... undesireable.
ooh, I didn't realize it was made by JLM motorsports an actual vendor. here's a link and also one to the write up on clubwrx. Seems like this is all JLM makes for the subies though http://www.jlmmotorsports.com/detail.php?ID=253&Make=Subaru&Model=Impreza&Year=98-06 http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=110072&highlight=jlm oh well, I just bought a group N off nasioc for cheap, someone else buy one and do a review
I've been researching this as well. But it's the general concensus that this is a useless mod and all it does it transfer more NVH to the cabin.
Bump an old thread. For anyone looking to get a stiffer pitch stop get ready to hear EVERYTHING. A guy here put in the Agency Power one and all he hears is tranny whine, road noise, and everything else include exhaust noise (more so than already). Consider a stiffer metal pitch mount a microphone for your firewall. He also said he felt vibrations more.
good to know, glad I went with the group N. Weapon R actually makes a shock damper for the engine, may look into that later when I have an extra $150 to burn...so that means it won't happen, lol
thats what most stiffer mounts will do . Makes your car feel stiffer. More solid. Take my word for it. Its worth it!
well you could break your tranny without em by shifting like He-Man but not from mounts.. I have never heard of someone breaking their transmission because they had stiffer mounts. Im sure there is a case but i have never heard of it. Ive had the stop pitch mount and tranny mount for over 2 years with no problems.
Never heard of that either, full race cars have some stiff ass mounts in there so that all the energy is transferred to the wheels and not in your drivetrain. seems like stiffer mounts would take the stress off the drivetrain by limiting its movement from the start.
