Emperor's Clothes for Bridge Builders - the Un-Bridge...

This bridge, between Sweden and Denmark, goes under water to allow
movement of ships. In order for ships to pass, this bridge is half under the water.
You drive down in the water and then come out on the other side -
truly a marvelous piece of engineering! Picture taken from Sweden side.

PS: in Canada, we call this a tunnel...

One of my brother's classmates was the first one to ride a bicycle across it.

No, it was built after I moved. But I'll be moving back to Europe in 5-10 years so will get to see it for sure then!

 

I should add that we like bridges in Sweden... we have a 4.8 mile or so bridge going to my favorite vacation spot. It's a really gorgeous drive.
