Milo, since you said some time in April, what about just planning a day in April? What about April 2nd. There are a few routes in "off topic" we could take.
i have a friend arriving on the 30th of march and leaving on 3rd... so besides that weekend, other weekends in april should hopefully work
April is fine as long as I dont have any tests coming up. I'll have to know a couple weeks in advance to ask off of work but other than that I'll definately be up for one.
my parents are supposed to be comin down at the end of april... but i think thats after the 23rd... so that should work for me
You guys talking north Georgia or Tail of the Dragon? I know us DSMers are talking about setting up a Tail of the Dragon run for maybe end of April.
The routes I had set out awhile back were More North Central Georgia...but, I don't think any decision was made as to which route we would be taking...
Sorry, can't make it, but I'm definitely down if you do it again in the future. I'll be on my honeymoon then!!! :bigthumb:
Thanks Scott! We're going to Marbella, Spain...on the Costa Del Sol! Can't wait!!! The big day is May 7th...I can't believe it's 3 weeks from tomorrow...the time flew by... (thanks for asking Scott!) Back to the topic at hand! Mountain runs...talk amongst yourselves... [/threadjack]
heck, I am game for any weekend to do a mountain run. If anyone is bored just holler b/c its on.:bigthumb:
runnin the hills hey im all ove this like whoa! we should get a group of people together and do a recon of the route. how long is it, can we post people and get handheld radios so we can communicate and use all of the road. You know what i mean, put people on the side of the road to say if its clear etc.. Sol Drums and i were talking about it last night. sounds like too much fun, danger, AHHHHH lets do it! too bad i will be the slowest faker there.
If your gonna do any scouting I suggest to not do this next weekend. Next weekend the Tour de Georgia will be rolling through the North GA Mountains to Dahlonega, then to blairsville and down to alpharetta. So those areas around Suches / dahlonega / Gainsville are gonna be packed with cars and bicycles. IF your wanting to see Lance Armstrong ride this will probably be one of the last times b/c of the next tour de france rumor has it he is retiring. http://www.tourdegeorgia.com/2005/the_race/race_overview.html Back to topic. To help out your scouting or just for a few ideas check this link out: http://atlbike.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=4 These are some of the routes that I cycle up that way.
i am in for anytime, we have a place up near lake burton that is a 15 mile stretch of nothing but hard turns. it was insanely fun in the miata and on the cbr, i cant wait to try it with awd
mountain run sounds fun yeah thanks, i think that i will most likely check out some routes on thursday of next week. i dont have class and i dont think that i have to leave town for any reason next weekend. I just got my springs on so im itchin to get out and hammer some turns anyway. let me know if anyone else wants to roll. Tom
Hey Tom, If your heading out there next Thursday shoot me a message on here. I may be around if you care for some company. I never pass up a little drive up that way. Peace.
