    Hey everyone,

Just installed my new perrin inlet...and after wrapping everything up and starting the car, my power steering was whining. Everything else on the car was fine, but it was whining and felt weird. Drove it around the block and it seemed to get a little better, but its still there. Also i check the fluid and its full, but was bubbly.

    Anyone know what happened/whats wrong?

An air pocket can form in the return hose from the resevoir to the pump even when the lines aren't opened. This happened to me recently after a t-belt install on an Outback. The fix is to stretch the resovoir up and or force the return line as low as possible and have someone steer the wheel to the lock (engine running of course). This will release the air pocket and the pump will be quiet once again, assuming the noise wasn't there before and the fluid is full.

Air pocket. Make sure the reservoir is full, and it'll go away in a day or so of normal driving.
