    Current setup: 2006 Impreza 2.5i (non-turbo)
Modifications: 2006 STi catback exhaust, Cold air intake, 17" wheels w/225/45-17 tires

Any thoughts on what I can do to squeeze out some more power out of my car? Anyone have a turbo for a 2006 laying around their garage? I'd like to turbo it but don't know how to start out. Any suggestions?

more hp from engine-headers, cams, engine management
to wheels- crank pulley/pulley set or flywheel (dont do both)

A lot of people ask about putting a turbo on their 2.5i (or 2.5rs) In general it is NOT a good idea: The internals of the 2.5i are not designed to take the extra compression from boost. If you look in your owner's manual you'll see the engine compression ration stats: 25.i is 10:1, wrx is 8.4:1. The wrx has lower compression ration to allow for turbo boost.

Nonetheless ther are people who have put turbos on their 2.5 NA subaru's, you should search on nasioc. Those guys seems to say you have to stay under 5lbs of boost and even that isn't that safe. I would be VERY careful and do LOTS of research before considering putting a turbo on your car (you have the same engine as I do).

That being said, you CAN get more power without a turbo, again do a LOT of searching, look for people who have done the mods and have dyno plots to prove their power gains. This question gets asked a LOT and a lot of bad info is out there, so be careful.

Lightweight components will help your car perform better in many ways, especially by reducing rotational mass; that is lightweight wheels, pulleys, flywheels (a lot of people say don't do both pulleys and flywheel, but I haven't seen proof of any real problems yet, but there might be).

As far as I know there is not any engine management available for the 2.5i.

    I gotta say it:
Save some money for mods that will improve handling: you can keep the same hp numbers and make your car go faster around corners and thus be faster overall.
