Presenting: First WRXatlanta.com Scavenger Hunt: Saturday, August 5th, 2006

Ryan (wrxguy) and the WRXatlanta administrative team present the first WRXatlanta.com scavenger hunt. This event is sponsored by Subaru of Gwinnett and Subaru of America. Come show your support for them at the Subaru Challenge in Atlanta.

Scavenger Hunt Details:

Teams of up to 4 can participate. Each team is given a large list of items that they either need to photograph of collect. Each item has a point value associated with it. The event runs between fixed times and the team that has the most points by closing receives a prize.

Logistics

• Date: August 5, 2006
• SOG will be the hub. This is the place where everyone meets at the beginning and end of the event.
• Food will be provided for participants at the end of the event (Thanks to SOG).
• The following prizes will be provided.
  • 4x $100 SOG Bucks certificates (sponsored by SOG)
  • 1 hour of free tuning (sponsored by SOG)
  • 1 free dyno session (sponsored by SOG)

Rules:

• All submissions become the sole property of WRXatlanta LLP. WRXatlanta can choose to utilize submissions at will and no compensation will be provided to the submitter.
• Please bring a digital camera and hardware/software required to download your images to a laptop (Don't need to bring a laptop).
• People involved in planning and organizing the event are not eligible to participate. This includes all moderators.
• Everyone meets at SOG at 9am for pre-event discussions.
• Cars take off from SOG at 10am.
• Cars are to return to SOG by 2.00pm.
  • Participants will be disqualified if they do not return to SOG by end time.
• Driver’s license, insurance & registration will be placed in the team's car in a sealed envelope. If this envelope is opened, the team will be disqualified.
• Obey all laws.
• Entry Fee: $20 per team.
  • A team can consist of up to 4 members but is limited to one car. At least one team member must be a member of WRXatlanta.com.

Friends and family are welcome as team mates... however since this is the first event, we are thinking of keeping this as a primarily WRXatlanta event... so basically at least one team member should be part of the club

Okay, this sounds like a blast!

 

upto 4 people per team... if u want, u can run solo and keep everything to yourself... however, ur chances of winning will improve with more people in your team since someone might have a better idea about where some of the items are located

prizes are provided courtesy of SOG... we will also be getting some additional stuff directly from SOA... stay tuned to the first post as it will disclose all updates

to all: please PM me when you guys have a team decided... i would like to receive a list of up to 4 names... also try to come up with a cool name for your team

..then wouldn't people just follow someone if they can't find a certain thing?

 

I don't think so. At least, I'd hope not. There's a certain satisfaction of doing it yourself, you know? Besides, if you're following someone, they're going to finish first anyway. ;p

 

the same list will be given to everyone... the list will be big so i doubt anyone will come anywhere close to completing every item... each item on the list has different point levels... also different items maybe located in different parts of the city... u need to plan what items u want to tackle and in what order... u might miss things if u simply follow behind someone... e.g. one item might ask to take the picture of a suzuki dealership... if u follow behind someone, they may take a picture from a moving car and u wont even realize that it was an item on the list

 

So basically it would be better if each team member had a camera to maximize their chances of winning. Would be tough for a 1 man team to do well though, so i must find teammates!

 

well, 1 team is in 1 car... so 1 camera per car is great... i would recommend at least 2 people per team... that will be safer and will also improve chances of winning

i have received a number of PMs from participants asking to have moderators on their team... since all the moderators are involved in event planning and organization, they will not be eligible to participate... this will ensure that all participants have a fair chance of winning

 

Do we get to know how big of a radius the hunt will take place in? Or will it be limitless with the matter of getting back in time to SoG?
