Hello - I have found a Prodrive Catless downpipe. It is the divorced style. Looks like it has a CAT but does not. Will it bolt up to my stock 04 STi exhaust or do I need to find the rest of the exhaust system? I have a Cobb AP and am running stage 1 map now. Can I install this DP add the K&N filter and go stage 2? I searched the forum and found the Exhaust likes dislikes postings but did not see this downpipe mentioned. Any advice is appreciated! Michael
"Downpipe: Prodrive's downpipe is designed for off-road use only and replaces the stock downpipe cat with a cat-less pipe to remove post-turbo restriction. This helps reduce turbo spool-up time and makes the veichle's throttle more responsive. The down-pipe also features a bell mouth turbo exit arrangement to reduce turbulence caused by the integral wastegate." Designed to replace the stock DP, so i am going assume it will fit.
Hello NSVWRX - you got it. 145.00 seems like it is a good price. Just worried about the divorced waste gate. I have heard that there could be issues with boost creep. I just looked under the car. Seems like it will bolt on and there will still be the second CAT. Any tech advice out there?
I would buy a different downpipe. It would end up a bit more expensive buying a full downpipe with a high flow cat, but I'd rather pay the money for more performance out of a bigger pipe and less restriction.
^^^ I used to run the prodrive and wish i bought one that was full length vs the shorty. By the time i added in the midpipe i spent way too much! Just shop here and nasioc and youll find a deal!
