Pulsating brake noise after new pads

Last weekend I upgraded my brakes with Hawk HPS pads, SS lines and DOT 4 fluid (ATF Super Blue). I had the rotors turned also so that the new pads would seat properly. I used the grease provided with the pads on the shims. I followed the bedding procedure exactly and the brakes feel great.

I know that upgraded pads will dust more, squeal etc. Now I hear NO noise when actually braking, but I do have a pulsating metallic squeak when the car is moving. The frequency and intensity increases with wheel speed.

I just want to know: Is this normal brake noise? If not, what could be the cause?

Does you car have the fixed 4 pots or the floating calipers?

It sounds like a caliper is sticking.

I have the floaters. That would be easy to check, thanks!

does it ever come and go? I have 4pots with hp plus and there are noise period. As long as they stop well I just pimp the squeak :wiggle:

I took out the slider pins on the left side and some were not moving as smoothly as I thought they should, so I re-greased them. The noise seems to have gone away or at least become much quieter.

Its not the noise that bothers me, but the fact that it pulsates with wheel speed, if it were a constant steady squeak, then I wouldn't worry.

So is it all better now or are you still having problems?

If your still having problems, then I would pull the pads out and sure there isn't any debris between the pad and rotor.

Also make sure the wear indicator on the pad isn't causing any problems. Last week I installed HP + in front and HPS in the rear and on the rears I had to cut the wear indicators off the new pads. There was no way the pads were fitting with them on. But, I have the fixed calipers.

I isolated the sound, and it is definitely the rear drivers side rotor. Its must be warped, because there is no debris, the wear indicator is well out of the way.

Right now it is only making noise, no shaking at high speed braking or any other symptoms, so I am now looking to get a replacement rotor in case things get worse.
