Question: Insurance

Discussion in 'Introduce Yourself' started by Dark_Templer102, Apr 26, 2005.

  1. Obviously all of you have (should) insurance. What i'm wondering is after you guys mod out your cars, do you tell the insurance company u have new 18 inch rims or a new turbo, etc. I just heard if you don't tell them, they cover what ever they knew you had, for example you buy 20 inch rims, but don't tell the compay, and they get stolen, the insurance company doesn't care, cuz they don't know about it

I keep my mouth shut when it comes to the ins. company. In my op. the less they know the better.

As for wheels acording to soa the stock wrx wheels are worth $350.00 each so you should be fine either way.

Just keep your Reciepts, and they will usually take care of most minor mods, some insurance like progressive will allow you to delcare a value to your modifications.

  5. Out of curosity, how much do you guys insurance cost...a month (you pay monthly right ^_^;?)

    For all listed below=255.00 month.

Strangely the volvo costs more than the STi.

Also basic coverage for the 95 L and the STi are the same price, the coverages cost the exact same, except for the full coverage sections.

    Ahh yeah im married.

    me:28 wife:23

Bodily Injury, Med pay, and uninsured are the same for both subarus.

250$ deductible 100/300. One speeding for wife.

You really need to include some stats for it to be meaningful. I'll go first:

    Me: 30, wife: 24
    2005 WRX and 2002 Jetta
    No tickets on record
    Allstate
    $110/month full coverage, $250 comprehensive, $1000 collision

    Geico here.

$146.00 per month for Both the M45 and the STi full coverage 500 deductables on both cars.

Plus I have been with Geico since 1982 LOL. And the wife got a speed ticket clocked at 120mph coming from Miami on the M45.

I pay $330/yr ($28/mo). That covers both my WRX & my F-150. Granted, that's absolute minimal coverage, so if anything happens to either of them, I'm SOL.

30, single, no tickets. The Hartford Ins co.

yea most insurance companies will not cover any mods you have unless you tell them about them..i had an extra quote done with mods and without and it changes the premium about $80bux a month..

I dont have any of my mods claimed, in fact the WRX is actually under my mom's name on our family's insurance and I'm driving the minivan on insurance. Still the Suby is the least costly vehicle on our plan despite being the fastest.

For the homeowners out there, would it be possible to claim anything under homeowner's insurance if your whee's, etc got stolen?
