So at about 11pm tonight 72k miles dialed in, my radiator imploded or exploded or whatever the oem's do! Lame as hell! Very Ford like.....although never had a Ford do that! Anyway thank friggin' god for slowwrx, we're gonna tackle it tomorrow! I guess my point being, if you got a BugI, you might want to swapthat radiator proactively:hsnono::eek3: The stocker is a piece of shit!

Where are you getting your replacement? Is there anyplace in town that stocks them? Also are you getting an all aluminum one or a stock equivalent.

One other question - are you going with the 04+ style with the cap. I think you need a few other parts to do that. I think I want to as it will make it easier to fill.

Check below for info. I am curious as I think I will be in the same boat in the future. Just wondering if you can get a good one quickly in town.

Well the great news is that upon taking the hoses off apparently the upper hose had a run in with the fan and lost, so the radiator turned out to be fine. I had a Suby tech not Kingwrx fix a leaky upper radiator hose recently and apparently did not push the hose all the way back to the stop on the block. No rant shit happens and I would let him work no my car again. It's just a tight space in there so if your i's aren't dotted shit breaks. As far as aftermarket radiators a bunch of guys are running an e-bay radiator on here that seems to be a great buy. I am sure they will chime in. If you need one now slowwrx has a stocker that will drop right in. I did not need it. Thanks again Matt!

I love the koyo I have on my car and will buy one for the next subaru I buy. The stock ones suck mainly because of the plastic end tanks. It is hard to make a liquid tight container that has a metal-plastic "seal".

if you have white smoke out the tailpipe it's not the radiator, it's somthing internal

Depends on exhaust i.e. cats? and how much smoke, billowing; if you look in review and you're like damn! problemo?! A little to some don't swet it. The less cats the more white smoke.

Heavy blue smoke not good, billowing white smoke possible head gasket. This is very unusual for most Suby's!

the white smoke was cause the radiator had several holes on the top of it. I need a new one.
