Did anyone else get a letter about the ABS system being faulty under certain conditions in some 02/03 WRXs? They wrote that I could go to the dealership and they have new reprogrammed ECUs for all WRX owners.

Anyone getting it fixed or already gotten it fixed?

I got this letter too, haven't noticed the issues there describing.... I think stock wrx brakes are teh suck anyway. Even with SS brake lines and Carbotechs the stopping power is still pretty weak...

I figure I might as well get it replaced. The braking really does suck, especially at high speeds. Braking on the freeway is really sketchy.

My brakes actually feel a bit weaker now that I got my working ABS pump in this past week.

The rex was fine without ABS. I had a couple of emergency stops from 40-50mph and nothing locked up, it felt rock solid. One of those was even along the very bumpy section of 10th street (Tech guys will know where I'm talking about).

if you race autox its better not to have abs.

the "racall" doesnt help with pedal feel or braking power, all it does is cause ABS to kick in a touch sooner.

oh and i did recieve the letter from subaru, a few weeks after my poor car lost its life. way to rub it in SoA.

this only appiles to vehicles with vin #'s in a close range. i got the letter as well and called sog and they said that my vin wasn't part of the recall, even though i think my brakes are doing the same things they're talking about. but now hearing you guys say that your brakes suck too, i don't feel that bad.
