94k on the car and the rattles and noises have finally gotten to me. I have a week off at the end of this month, and 2 and a half next month. Besides much needed time of just sitting on my ass, I would also like to go ahead and coat the car (trunk, interior floor, and doors) with sound deadening material. Anyone have any experience with this stuff that can recommend some?
I have used Dyanmat, GTmat, and fatmat without any issues. The later of the two are way cheaper. Just make sure and prep the area before applying and use a heat gun as well. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...words=sound deadening&sprefix=SOund+D,aps,253

Check this site out. http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/ Depending on what your goals are you may want to try some MLV in conjunction with Dynamat/Fatmat. The dynamat will help with rattles and vibrations but may not bring down the overall sound level. I've ordered Fatmat in bulk from ebay and its practically the same as dynamat but 1/4 the price.
i know the older GD's came with the rattles and creaks as an included feature. I believe the new GR chassis's are markedly improved on that, how much I can't say but the times I've ridden in stock GR's they are a lot more cushier. I'm of the I don't mind the creaks and rattles as I knew it was just going to get worse with the suspension and bushing mods I chose to do. So its somewhat subjective, but I think its safe to say a subaru is far from having a quiet cabin
