So ive been contemplating this for a bit. I spent a decent amount on a K&N Typhoon short ram. Overall no CELs and car driveability is fine. Im picking up a Cobb AP sometime this week and noticed the maps call for a stock air box. Im wanting the Stage 2 setup, and that is asking for stock airbox, 93 octane, and turbo back. Which I have right now, minus the stock airbox. Overall opinions, should I return and get my 200+ dollars for the short ram and revert to stock airbox?
I'd say yes. The Typhoon probably isn't adding any power at all, might even reduce it because of the intake location, and is not recommend for AP Stage 2.
yeah, you really can't go wrong with the stock airbox. I **think** it's been proven that it's the best thing until you go to a much bigger turbo. You could always look into getting a Green filter for the stock airbox if you still wanted the better filter element.
I agree with the above...hopefully you can get some $ back on that K&N, in the form of a decent private sale...
Nobody local, an ebay seller I know and have a business partnership with offered it to me at time of purchase. Since I answered, why the inquiry? Think Im being dishonest with a shop? If so, that isnt me.
that's cool bro!!! glad to see your getting your money back!! I don't think anyone was judging you, just surprised at a very cool seller.....you'll definitely like running AP stage 2 BTW....
Nemisis I don't think they were inquiring seems like you took it the wrong way from Weapon wrx and Alex meant anything by it. They are just very informative guys and always like to help thats all
