You may find this thread of some use... I'm running 225/40/18 on my 18x8 rotas because it's a daily driver and the selection/price of 235/40/18 are few and pricey. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4426
It's Ben! anyway, I want as much tire as possible w/ 18's. The Prodrives are supposed to be 1.2" (from the site). Other springs were 1.5-1.8" in the front. I just dont wanna buy springs and they are too low or too high.....damn i sound dumb...
I would definitely suggest the 40's for the aspect ratio. So you don't have your speedo go crazy because of the wheel diameter.
yep, i tend to hang around this board also... as to too low or too high, i know exactly what you mean. you remember how low my car was when i first bought it. (i couldn't put my fingers between the tire and the fender, for those that don't know) since then i have raised it to 14.5 from center of hub to fender in the front and 13.5 in the rear. this seems to work really well, it definatly handles better. i am not sure what the difference is from stock though.
I have 18x8 with 225/40/18's on there and it does not rub much, but you can see a spot on the inner fender area when it has rubbed a couple times. I have Eibach springs which are 1.5 in front and 1.2 in the rear. I would recommend shocks too, not just springs from my personal experience. You will pay more for either the 225/45's or the 235/40's. Weird tire sizes cost significantly more.
225-40-18. Oh yeah i'm about to sell a set of Prodrives.I will post pics soon but i'm running 19 so it look a little diffrent.
Whats the point of having the 18x8 unless you are going to run the 235. Like Alex said, roll the fenders, or better yet, I can show you how to cut them so nobody ever knows. I am sure most of the problem will just be the rears depending on what alignment you opt for.
