Example. If I'm in 3rd gear cruising around 35 mph ~2500 RPM and I put my foot down on the gas medium to hard my car will jump to around 4500 to 5000 RPM then drop and catch around 3000. Keep in mind my foot is nowhere near the clutch. Any one have any ideas why the engine is reving up so high then dropping and catching?
yep, that is probably clutch slippage. Does it do it in all the higher gears? Mine does that when I hit full boost in 4th and 5th. Oh well, 90k with OEM clutch is all I can really ask for...
It's definitely the clutch. Your description is a perfect definition of what happens when a clutch wears out. Siegel
Damn, I was really hoping that wasn't the case. Anyone know about how much a new clutch will cost? Also, does anyone know a good shop near Decatur?
Wirelessly posted Oem clutch is cheap (relatively). Aftermarket like act is great but considerably more expensive. If you don't have the power mods to justify aftermarket I'd stick with oem.
I think we've sill got one or two more stage 2ish act clutches for SMOKING deal. give us a call on Monday and decker can quote you. 678-297-7770 Siegel
