So I'm driving to work and I see a tow truck in a parking lot with a white subaru hooked up. Not sure if it was a Wrx or STi but which ever it was it had just been in an accident. I turned around and stopped the tow truck in the parking lot and asked him how far he planned on towing the car with the rear wheels on the ground. I would hate to see somebody's bad day get even worse by toasting the center diff. He said he was just towing it to a flat spot in the lot to get the rears on a dolly. Was this anybody here?
If anything, knowing that they're not responsible for any damage to your vehicle, they will in fact damage your vehicle intentionally. They love drama.
My mother is an insurance agent, and if my understanding is correct by her, the tow truck driver isn't responsible for any damage caused by the accident that they are towing the car from, so unless they toasted the diff in the accident, if he did tow it and mess it up, he can be held liable. I may be wrong, but I think that is the way it goes.
That is somewhat true. Somewhere in the mix you sign papers which state that they're not liable for any damage before and after towing. If you can dodge that bullet, you should have a valid case to pursue for compensation.
There's also just outright negligence in their favor. Any reputable tow truck should know to either use a flatbed or have the special attachment for an AWD
That statement is pure ignorant and no different than saying that all cops are pigs and jerks and love pulling you over just to make your day miserable.
live in a bubble? Here in Clayton County we elected a sheriff under multiple felony indictments... twice
I was once held for two hours, while on my lunch break, without reason. It took them two hours to get a clearance on my handgun that's always with me. Not only that, their crappy dog left hair all over the inside of my car. What was the end result, "Have a good day", f you officer.
when my car was stolen, it was found 100 yards from my house, they had put .6 miles on the odometer. They left it in a vacant lot. THEN the cops came, broke into the car (leaving dents in the hood, estimated at $1600 to repair, was structural so couldn't be pulled), sprayed the shit out of it with finger print dust (so bad that I had it detailed three times and they still couldn't get all of the dust out of my car), then told me they weren't pursuing anything further with it, these happen all the time. Also, the ONLY speeding ticket I've ever had happened at 4am in the morning where the speed limit dropped from 55 to 45. Yes, I was speeding, but I got pulled over for doing 60 right when it dropped. He wouldn't drop it to 59, so I had to take a morning off of work to go to court and get the solicitor to do it (who also said the cop must've been an ass for not doing it). The response the officer gave me? You don't have to talk to the families of the people who die everyday because of speeders like you. Sorry, they all have personal agendas, they all look out for themselves. There may be a select few that have good intentions, but they still have their own agendas.
Next time, just try this: A police officer stops a man on the highway. The man says “Did you stop me for speeding?” The officer replies “Yes, I stopped you for speeding” The man replies “Well I have a gun in my glove compartment, and have a dead body in my trunk” The officer pulls back and calls for back up and waits. Minute’s later back up arrives. The second officer says “My partner says you had a dead body in the trunk and a gun is the glove compartment." So the cop checks the glove compartment, no gun. He checks the trunk, no body. Officer 2 asks, "Do you have a gun?" The man says, "No, sir." "Did you steal this car?" "Nope." At last policeman 2 says, "My partner said you had a dead body and a gun." The guy replies, "I bet he said I was speeding too!!!
granted, this was over 10 years ago (about a month after 9/11) and in the racist hick town I grew up in (Loganville), but I had a muslim friend who was detained when she was walking in with all of us (about 8 in our party) into a zaxbys. No reason, only she looked like a terrorist or some shit. They held her for almost three hours (and us, by default) while they called in additional backup. 4 cop cars, 3 hours later, a pissed off restaurant and several complaints filed from us, we were allowed to leave. There are thousands and thousands of these stories.
You do know most all convo's you have are recorded if the cops turns the mic on? Dunno about in GA but in SC all police have mics on them that is recorded in the car.
kind of like how I got pulled over in dunwoody a month ago.. I turned down a wrong street and pulled into a driveway to turn around. cops pulled me over. their reason: "we have a lot of kids come down this road to do drugs and alcohol" oh well cool story, but that isn't probable cause to pull me over. it went downhill from there and escalated into "well we'll just arrest you and impound your car" I laughed at the cop and told him to go right the fuck ahead while I pointed at his dash cam.
I love it when I'm working at Atlantic Station and run one of the red lights. APD loves pulling people over for that, but they hate it when thy get someone who knows that whole place is private property. Even 17th.
Does that make it okay to run red lights? You might kill somebody... Yellow means slow down red means stop

I believe it was Fulton county Police or APD.
