Once again I am at the point where I am unhappy with the car. The lag of the 18g is really really starting to get on my freaking nerves. On top of that the clutch has decided to take a dump and slip anytime I go WOT. It'll never end....I am gonna always want more and more but this is different. I almost don't even want to drive the thing. I guess once I get the suspension and the 2.5L swap with the 6 sp I be happy enough to accept it. Right now however I REALLY REALLY wish I went with a smaller turbo.
I am not gonna take a step backwards. I am gonna be patient and wait it out. Then I'll have all the fun I want...lol But right now it just hit me like a brick wall and depressed the crap outta me.
Yeah a VF34 on meth. Then the clutch started slipping one night and the next morning I woke up all tired of it and pissed off at it. I ultimately just want the low end and street driveability. Milo you ought to know how it feels.....very sluggish in the low end unless you are in a LOW gear about to rip that tranny.
once you mod...it doesnt stop. by day two...my new RS was no longer stock...and it still continues to get mods.

The boost hits 22 at around 3600 but the tq doesn't kick in till 4000 or later. Maybe I can talk SS into making it hit harder once I get the tranny taken care of?
Will making the boost 'hit harder' really make your car any faster? I'd rather have power that comes on smoothly than instaboost that makes the car hard to control once it hits. You could use a 50shot of nitrous or something to help spool it although your turbo hardly sounds laggy for being matched to a 2.0
Well I want the spool to come in quicker and the peak power to come in sooner. Put it this way....the car is a BEAST at the drag strip when pushing it to the max but on the street VF34 cars are hanging with me. I still beat them but not by much. Due to their way faster spool and wider power band they stay right with me. For that reason that ticks me off....lol

Its better to stick with a AX setup. For example, TMIC, VF34 or 16g, and maybe meth injection. From what I have been hearing, that sounds like the best setup unless you are dragging, but then you would need a new tranny and clutch anyways with a drag setup.
Haha if I wasn't planning on going big in the future GTScoob I would take ya up on that. I think I have located an issue that I need to track down. For those of you that don't know me, I am severely hearing impaired so it makes it hard when issues come up and all. Yesterday the fiancee and I were heading to a party and she heard something different. Said it sounded chirpy and like air. Sounds like a leaky BOV or worst yet another boost leak. I hope the Perrin pipes haven't cracked or rubbed through. I'll track that down this week and if that is the case that may be why the car feels so slow lately. It still lags though....lol
Sounds kinda funny but I'd like to have a bigger turbo, I think it would be more streetable. This one spools so fast that I cant ever get on it around town unless I'm just going to go wide open. I think an 18G would do the trick.:naughty: Good luck tracking down the problem, I hate to say it but each time I've fixed one thing something else has broken shortly thereafter. It seems really self defeating.
i dont think its ever possible to be fully happy with a car haha, i know that from first hand experience.
